Although a great thesaurus in book form, this is not set up well for the kindle. The only way to move through the book is with the Search this Book or FIND feature on the kindle. This takes you to locations where your desired word may be but not to the word itself. Very frustrating to use! A waste of $10.00. Very diasppointed.... all it would need is a search built in similar to a dictionary. Again, a great Thesaurus but not for the kindle.... too bad!

There are people who love words for their own sake and those for whom words are tools of their trade - and there are some, like myself, who are both word lovers and word users. "Super Thesaurus" is a book that should delight all three groups, at least for a while. "Super Thesaurus" tries to differentiate itself from competitors by being "super". It boast s not only synonyms, but is something of a "reverse dictionary"; poses as a "vocabulary book", a feature of limited value; claims to have quotations that double as synonyms and, for good measure, antonyms. For the very discerning, "Super Thesaurus" does not measure up to the classics such as the original Roget's and Rodale's, but it is fun to use and helpful as well. By way of example, "death" includes familiar synonyms like "demise", slang like "lights out" and the promised quotations, such as "a black camel which kneels at the gates of all". In the "word find" or reverse dictionary entry for "death", you find morsels like "gurgle at last breath: death rattle". Oddly, here are no antonyms for death listed. You can't be too rich, too beautiful or have too many dictionaries and thesauri. For the low price, this is a fun and useful thesaurus.Jerry

I've been operating with a 1974 Webster New World Thesaurus for over a year now. It was purchased at a garage sale I think and the more I needed it the less I wanted to rely on it. It didn't contain nearly the amount of words I KNEW exisited and I couldn't figure out how this book could call itself a Thesaurus when it didn't even have words like ABATE, ABACK, ABET, JEER, COMMISERATE, just to name a few. I actually did a little jump when I finally recieved my Super Thesaurus in the mail and have used it nearly everyday since. It's a blessing and the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I am afraid of the spine cracking allowing pages to become loose and the print is rather tiny (small, diminutive, little, wee, puny, miniture, minute, miniscule, lilliputian, dwarf, pygmy, pint-sized, pocket-sized, teeny, itsy-bitsy, microscopic, infinitesimal) but I''m so excited to have an actual THESAURUS that I just dont care. It's worth the buy people. I PROMISE!

Roget is my favorite list maker. I have a good sheet with my own cross referencing that i was creating and using in my writing and editing. Why? because a thesaurus just isn't enough.This? this is my hero. it is exactly what i was creating, but in complete form. there are several Roget's, and i recommend owning all of them.

I'll make this quick: I write (commercially) for a living. I'm often looking for another word so I don't get/sound repetitive. OR a better word meaning the same thing.It's the writing "game." This is better than a dictionary. I already know how to spell.This is the THIRD one I've bought! I have the 2nd and 3rd editions. The 2nd edition is shopworn. The 3rd edition on its way to being shopworn. I use em all the time. One at home; one at work.Hands down, if you're serious about writing and/or word usage, this is THE BIBLE! Er, absolutely best on the market.

Although second-hand books advertise delivery times of 2-3 weeks, this one arrived within a few days of my ordering it, which was very timely! I'd been tutoring a young man in reading and writing all summer, and he was delighted with the large print and easy use of this thesaurus. He went from simple sentences (subject noun + overused verb + unadorned object) to compound and complex sentences in the course of the summer, employing exciting verbs and colorful adjectives with zest! I ordered the book for him to take to 7th grade with him. It was in fantastic shape for a very small price which lit up the face of an aspiring young writer! Thank you so much, GoldVictory (bookseller)! You made my day and a bright new school year for a deserving young man!

I've used this Thesaurus almost every day since I purchased it. I got a smokin' deal (barely used) from one of Amazon's partners.I needed to replace an old Roget's from my high school days as it was being held up by a rubber band. This one has additional features which I frankly haven't used yet. But for a basic word tool, I have no complaints or issues with how this one is laid out. I love my Thesaurus!

Great map but it does not cover the whole river valley. I'm going to Amboise, east of Tours. It's not on the map.

When people talk about visiting the Loire Valley, generally they mean the area that includes Blois, Orleans, chateaux and the like. That area is not included in this map, though how would you know when buying online? I'm so disappointed that I got a map I don't need. It is completely useless for me. And now I am out the money.

I ordered this map as we were driving from Paris to the chateaux of the Loire valley two weeks ago. This is the only choice that comes up when you search for Loire valley Michelin road maps on amazon. Unfortunately, none of the area surrounding the towns of amboise and tours, where all the castles are located, is included on this map! I unfortunately did not discover this until my family and I were on the road in our rental car . So it is completely unused.

Need this and 518 to do the whole Loire valley. Excellent maps

This map covers to just a bit east of Tours. Many castles and chateaus are not included on the map. Much of the Loire Valley is not on this map.

Michelin maps are excellent, but one needs to be able to see the map before purchasing it. I will never again buy another map over the internet as only one of four maps that I bought actually covered the area where I was traveling.

This is a very useful map that is essential for planning a trip to Loire Valley with good scale and illustrations.

"The Howler on the Sales Floor" is a quick read full of humor and sarcasm. "Mara's Shadow" has the intrigue and technical writing required by an action/thriller audience. Every year I read Writers of the Future. Some years there are a lot of stories I like, and some years there are only a few. For this latest edition, #34, I liked most of them. My favorite was "The Howler on the Sales Floor," a humor piece about an out-of-its-element supernatural person in an office job. “The Minarets of An-Zabat” had some great imagery, and "Miss Smokey" made me laugh. I recommend this anthology highly, because there are enough stories here that you should like at least three or four of them.

When I read a book of short stories I find myself reading them in a random order. So far I have enjoyed all of the ones I have read, some amazing talented writers were chosen for this writers of the future book ! I do want to comment on Miss Smokey. The main character shows herself to be a strong female with a job that made me wonder why she stayed until the end when the why she stays is revealed .Well written with a bit of everything in it and good character development that I do not always see in short stories . Now I want more !

Love all the amazing stories. I’m a huge science fiction fan and I enjoyed reading these short stories. Perfect quick read, definitely makes me want to follow these authors and see what other books they have. The illustrations were AWESOME!

Awesome book as usual. I can see why this book is always top rated since hundreds of stories are submitted but only the best ones gets published. A safe bet to buy. I read the first four stories and they were great but all so different.

I am truly enjoying this anthology, though I generally read three or more book series. However this collection doesn't disappoint in the least, and I have a feeling many of these authors will be on the Sci-fi, Fantasy Best Sellers Lists very soon.

'Click' is a charming, well-crafted kids title that doesn't talk down, or even kneel, to its audiences level but gets all the way in the sandbox. A slice-of-life story, the stakes are low and the problems are emotional, but finds its drama in the very real problems kids face in their lives, rather than resorting to the metaphorical adventures that a lot of storytelling for kids seems to rely on. Author Miller doesn't see any reason to NEED to exaggerate the problems kids face because to kids they are as real and as meaningful as they feel and above all this book's writing excels at this point. Beyond the script, the art is perfectly balanced for the smaller scale of book, with easy-reading pastel colors and clearly defined linework, with notable moments of visual detail baked into the pages that adds a real artistic texture to the book, like a panel purely inserted to show the stars on Olive's wall are glow-in-the-dark decals. I may be a couple of decades (and children) shy of being able to honestly say what a kid would think of this book, but as a fan of the medium regardless of target demographic, 'Click' is a confident, gentle, and worthwhile title that takes kids seriously without feeling overly serious.

I purchased a copy of this book for my cousins (ages 8 & 10) and they both loved it! They tell me they are both anxiously anticipating the next book in the series, “Camp”.As a longtime fan of Kayla Miller's independent comics, it was exciting to see their unique perspective applied to content for young audiences. It was refreshing to read a story about a character like Olive who doesn’t "fit in" but isn't explicitly ostracized as a social pariah—Olive HAS friends, she just doesn't have "best" friends. Even though the story centers on a character who feels like she doesn't know where she belongs, this feeling is universal. Everyone has felt like this at some point in their life, ESPECIALLY in middle school.I love the pacing of this book, particularly the way moments are allowed to breathe. Some of my favorite parts of the book are scenes with minimal dialog where the story is carried forward based on the characters' expressions and the setting. Each environment is illustrated with personality and attention to detail, helping readers become invested in Olive's world and problems. The dynamics between Olive's classmates and the complicated relationship between Olive's pragmatic mother and the more "oddball" Aunt Molly, leave me wanting to know more about these characters. Which is good, because more is on the way!I highly recommend you share "Click" with the young readers in your life.

Do you like comic books / graphic novels? Original, relatable characters? Story lines that are both entertaining, and meaningful? Buy this book. Olive, her family, and her friends are from all across the spectrum of life - this book is a great reminder about how sometimes we all feel like we don't have a place - until we finally discover it with the help of family and friends. The original artwork (and self-created font!) is amazing, and a great addition to any library. Can't wait until her next book releases!

I bought this to help my 10yr old goddaughter develop a love a reading! I picked the perfect book. She loved and wants more. Her enthusiasm for reading has changed dramatically. Great read!

This is a wonderful book with an invaluable lesson for today's children. One of my favorite new tools for a parent or grandparent, hoping to offer positive and retainable development assistance to a elementary school level child.

This book is amazing, has a great story and the drawings are phenomenal however a little short for me since i finished it in 45 minutes. Maybe not something u would want if ur looking for something long to read, but its just my opinion maybe im just a fast reader. Anyway awesome book!

Great story so far. But pages 65-80 are missing, with pages 49-64 repeating instead. Hope I can exchange for a correctly printed copy so my daughter can keep enjoying the story!

I liked this book and I will recommend it.The thing that I really did not like is that we should read how Olive present.
